Aamir turns away IIFA request for film clips

Aamir Khan has turned down IIFA’s request for clips of his film Taare Zameen Par, and has given no reason as to why.

It is believed that Aamir is a staunch critic of award shows, not attending even when he is nominated, and publicly expressing his views that these ceremonies are fake. This could be the reason as to why he has denied access to the film. Another could be the cold war between him and IIFA brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan.

A few months ago, Aamir criticised Bachchan’s film, Black. Big B wasn’t happy and gave a statement in which he said ‘the film must have gone over Aamir’s head’. Aamir then wanted to apologise in person, but Amitabh refused to answer his calls. So now it’s Aamir’s turn to hit back. Apparently, Aamir also refused to part way with clips to Filmfare, where his film won many awards.

Is Aamir going a little too far… he isn’t attending award shows… understood… but refusing access to his film’s clips… does this make Aamir a spoil sport? Should the industry, from hereafter, not nominate a person who refuses to accept the award? Please do tell us your views in the comments section below.
