International Film Festival of India got a bad news on Friday as actress-turned-producer/director met with an accident on the road in Panaji. Pooja Bhatt was heading towards the airport after attending the IFFI. Her car collided with another vehicle on the way to the airport. She suffered minor injuries and a foreigner in the other vehicle was also injured. The driver of the other vehicle has been detained by the local police.
“She suffered minor injuries to her head. But it is nothing serious. There is no need to worry,” Goa’s police chief Ujjawal Mishra said.
Pooja has been kept under observation at a private nursing home in Panaji and seems to be recovering back. Her father filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who is currently in Mumbai said, “I spoke to her husband who was by her side. She was bleeding profusely and the bleeding has stopped. I will wait for the doctor to give a bulletin but it will be fair to conclude that she is not as serious as thought initially.”
Both the cars have been severely damaged in the mishap. The accident occurred two kilometres away from the airport.
