“DETECTIVE MAURYA” STARRING SHEKHAR SUMAN
Makrand Deshpande of Swades fame announced his forthcoming play “DETECTIVE MAURYA”, on his Birthday before cutting his cake.
Makrand Deshpande, whose birthday falls on the 6th of March celebrated at Rio’s Met Lounge on the eve of his Birthday March 5th and also announced his forthcoming play DETECTIVE MAURYA. Host of close friends and guests like Shekhar Suman, Kavita Lad, Amol Gupte, Sudhir Mishra, Vishram Sawant, Gitanjali Rao, Yash and Gauri Tonk, Mona Ambegaonkar, Rajendra Gupta, Sudhir Pandey, Tejaswini Kolhapure, KK menon along with his wife Nivedita and Sandeep Rajora attended this event.
The play will be held at Prithvi Theatre on 15th and 16th March at 6 pm and 9pm.
DETECTIVE MAURYA is a black comedy revolving around farmer’s suicide.
A detective (Shekhar Suman) who is involved in solving crime cases is forced by the circumstances to investigate himself. His loving wife (Kavita Lad), loyal sexy secretary (Delnaz Paul) and mentally challenged neighborhood are the part of his journey from crime to care…
Acoording to Makrand the best-suited person for the detective’s role was Shekhar as he can handle black humor and political and social issues very well. ‘This particular play brings a social message out and Shekhar portrays it flawlessly’.
Apart from Shekhar Suman other artists in DETECTIVE MAURYA include Makrand Deshpande, Delnaz Paul and Kavita Lad.
