Khan bags role with Natalie Portman
Indian actor Irrfan Khan could be starring opposite hot Hollywood babe Natalie Portman, if Mira Nair has her way.
After working his magic with Brad Pitt’s wife in The Mighty Heart, and getting rave reviews for his role in The Namesake, Irrfan is touted to star in Mira’s Kosher Vegetarian; a love story between a Gujarati man and Jewish girl (played by Natalie Portman).
Talking about the potential role, Irrfan bragged, “I’ll be playing this strictly vegetarian Gujarati ma. Unlike The Namesake, which was a family story. Kosher Vegetarian is the story of a man and a woman. Needless to say, I play the man.”
Ask him about the sexy Natalie, Irrfan responds, “I’ve heard Natalie is my co-star in the film. I find the project immensely exciting because it is Mira’s film. Mira is a majestic multi-tasker. I love her spirit. It’s contagious. After The Namesake, I was sure we would do something special again.
