Sahara One has confirmed it will air ‘Mere Sasural’ – a rebel soap to ZEE TV’s ‘Maayka – Sath Zindagi Bhar Ka’.
The story goes…Four months ago, ZEE TV’s ‘Maayka’ production duties were shifted from Classic Productions and given to Dheeraj Kumar’s Creative Eye. This subsequently saw the axe fall on 14 various actors including the loss of lead actress Urmila Kanitkar.
Creative head of the show Anjana Sood had vowed to her friends from the ‘old’ ‘Maayka’ that she would come up with a new show, which would star the old cast. That is where ‘Mere Sasural’ comes in.
When Mumbai Mirror contacted, Anjana Sood said, “I am thankful to the actors of Maayka for having confidence in me and having patience. During the last few months, none of them called me even once to ask about the new show that I had promised them. All of them were getting several offers from various channels including ZEE, but they turned them down and waited to hear from me. I will do my best and won’t let them down.”
‘Mere Sasural’ begins on Sahara One in India on Sunday (2nd March). A UK telecast is yet to be confirmed.
