Jodhaa Akbar: Some interesting facts
Shooting of Jodhaa Akbar in Sambhar (Faloti village) was interrupted concurrently because of sandstorms. These would occur every half hour and last for 2-3 minutes.
A scene in the film sees Hrithik’s character taming an elephant. To do this, Hrithik would travel to Karjat on days he wasn’t shooting, so to spend time with the elephant feeding her bananas. This in the end helped him enact the actual scene to perfection.
Hrithik Roshan and Sonu Sood found the sword fight scenes much difficult to perfect, but this was not the case for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Unlike them, she had already had lessons in it while shooting for The Last Legion.
Jodhaa Akbar has been reported to be the most expensive Bollywood movie ever made.
Even the dressing and make-up of the extras took over 4 hours. The costume guys and girls arrived on set at 5am and worked non-stop till 9.30am.
The horses being ridden by Hrithik Roshan in the film were called Chandani and Superman. Chandani knew exactly what to do after listening to the word ‘action’.
