This film too, like today’s other release Superstar starts off with a man VK (Ranvir Shorey) coming to Mumbai with a dream of making it in the film industry. Alas! Destiny plays a cocky game with the innocent fool, who gets drawn into the scheme of dirty things of underworld one after the other.

Time pays back and the onlookers fall prey to an accident which changes the cycle of movement. With the high waves crushing on him, VK turns into fate-made fraud. The rest of the story is nothing short of spiritful thrills.

The film is highly unpredictable and binds you into its believable acts. The story leaves no marks of getting a hint of what’s coming in for the viewer. The onlookers are bound to get amazed with what they see.

Director Rajat Kapoor emerges as a refined narrator who handles complex characters with ease and translates the characterizations unduly well on the bigscreen.

The climax is stunning but ends on a depressing note. Writers Saurabh Shukla and Rajat Kapoor have worked effectively to bring a difference to the raw looking script.

Performance wise, Ranvir Shorey is a stand out. The versatile tag is just a formality for the fine actor. Naseeruddin Shah just proves why he is considered the best actor in the Hindi Industry. Vinay Pathak has a far lesser role, but delivers a justified act yet again.

Neha Dhupia delievers a super act in this one. Harsh Chhaya is effective.

Overall, Mithya has the power to enjoy the long run at the box office because of its fine performances, refined direction, crafty narration and a different story in the kitty. Watch the thriller take a toll on your imagination.
