The sequel of Raaz has the gripping catch line ‘The Mystery Continues’ but the entire movie could not hold the audience as it did with previous film. Last year, we witnessed the success of Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Phoonl’ and Vikram Bhatt’s ‘1920’. This might have encouraged Mukesh Bhatt to churn out a movie on horror subject. But it does not look the sequel rather it just appeared as a horror film.
The story of the film ‘Raaz The mystery continues’ is about an artist Prithvi (Emraan Hashmi) who generally paints something mysterious and his paintings foretell incidents. The painter paints about a woman Nandita (Kangna Ranuat) whom he has never met in life and later he tries to search for the girl. His brush now paints that girl as dead. He tells it to her but she seems not to be interested in it. Nor des her boyfriend Yash (Adhyayan Suman) look interested in this ghostly story of the painter.
Soon an incident took place that changes Nandita’s perception about the paintings and she feels that to change her luck she will have to stay in touch with the painter and will have to believe him. But that will part her away from her boyfriend.
The film’s story talks about the premonitions and ghostly experiences, as the person who is going to be murdered is alone. And he is the followed by some kind of spirit. Or he is attacked.
Admit, the horror factor is high in the film and you feel it once you get along with the movie. But the movie does not show you any scientifically designed reason or logic behind the incidents happened on the reels. First half has potential but the post interval portion seems to be lacking in gripping the audience because you do not find proper twist and turns in the film, which keep the viewer glued to the screen.
The script is good but the writer (Shagufta) could not hold the movie in the second half. Director Mohit Suri does well but he is letdown by the writer in the post interval portion. Overall his direction is good. Cinematography by Ravi Walia is crispy. Music grows well with the listener.
Emraan Hashmi does a brilliant job as a painter. Kangna Ranuat impresses with her acting. The debutante Adhyayan Suman enacts well too. Rest of the cast fills the bill.
On the whole, ‘Raaz – The Mystery Continues’ has horror factor in full. But the second half disappoints the viewers since the story losses the grip.

please change the star’s system make it out of 10 and not 5 cuz the margin becomes little and you cannot make true justification on the performance of the movie.
