Luck doesn’t seem to be favouring Rajkumar Santoshi and his dream project with Shahid Kapur. The latest news is that the production house, PVR, has backed out from the untitled venture.
A defensive Santoshi says, “The project hasn’t been shelved but just pushed ahead.We were supposed to start the project after Halla Bol but now it will only happen next year.”
A few months ago, the duo were to work together but later the director decided todrop the idea of making an intense film with Kapur because he found too many similarities between his script and the recently released JabWe Met.
“The last 10 minutes of Jab We Met were similar to my script. It wouldn’t be advisable to have the same climax with the same actor,” he explains.
Objections raised
The film was also supposed to feature Katrina Kaif opposite Kapur but there was news that Salman Khan was not so happy with Kaif working with Kapur.
