He may be a living legend, but when it comes to giving, he again makes his mark.
Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has offered financial support for life, to sisters Anjali and Rimjhim. The girls, both under 8, were abandoned at a privately run Shanti Niketan School in Patna 13 months ago.
According to a source, “Amitabh Bachchan’s offer came through Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh who called CNN-IBN. He promised to take care of the girls’ schooling and the other expenses on Big B’s behalf. Bachchan didn’t want to talk about it as he feels charitable things should be done quietly.”
Amitabh has himself confirmed this, saying, “I do not feel up to talking about it. It’s my father’s (Harivanshrai) death anniversary, so please excuse me.”
It has also been reported that the actual mother of the girls, a prostitute, has now resurfaced and wants the kids back.
