Life has just started to play its weird game with Shankar in the fist of money and love. Adding to the wit, Jasmine too joins his ride from Bombay to Bangkok.
Kukunoor hasn’t connected the humour well enough with the storyline. In individuality, the characterization, the script and the screenplay stand out but in totality nothing matches the class displayed in his previous films.
A list of interesting characters are piled up in Bombay To Bangkok. Shreyas Talpade, especially stands out in the role of cook turned thief, and then acting out to be a doctor in order to impress the Thai beauty.
Some of the scenes are absolutely original and never seen before, like the one where Shreyas prescribes Viagra to all the patients in the massage parlour, and then the dialogue with Lena’s uncle, who in contrast is a Bollywood fan.
Infact, the script has be directed as it is being shown in a stageplay, but the formulistic viewing of cinema misses out in Kukunoor’s creativity.
The music of the film is quite different and refreshing. ‘Mausam Suhana’, ‘Same Same but different’ are the best ones to pick from. The cinematography is not upto the standards of Mukta Arts presentations, as the shooting locations are undeniably brown.
