EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Nagesh Kukunoor is known for his intelligent display of characters within the green pastures of cross and cultural cinema. This time, the writer cum director has timed a light hearted cross cultural comedy – ‘Bombay to Bangkok’.

After a inspiring ‘Iqbal’ and a versatile show in ‘Dor’, actor Shreyas Talpade teams up with Nagesh Kukunoor yet again in this film. Though, the movie was incepted with the idea to capture the fun of romance. With two people not being able to communicate, the film is meant to explore the joy of learning a new culture and its people in a humorous way but alas it does not finish the journey with finesse.

Shankar (Shreyas Talpade), is a small time thief who gets away with the money stolen from a local don (Naseeruddin). He manages to escape by heading to Bangkok with a team of doctors who are going there for relief support.

Amidst the hustle and bustle, Shankar loses all his money. Moreover, he meets a Thai beauty Jasmine. Here too, he can’t communicate with her, thanks to the language barrier. Shankar makes his way into Jasmine’s heart by pretending himself to be a doctor and helping her in the time of need.
