EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI
I still remember the days when I was a rookie in journalism and looking out for mediums where I could get a glimpse of stars. Well, during that time I went to see the shooting of Tulsi, which was going on in a water park in Hyderabad. Times have changed, and the same is visible in the film which has been in the making from the last five years.
Tulsi is an emotional saga of a woman who is suffering from blood cancer and is the widow of drunkard. A globe of responsibilities in terms of four children awaits her futuristic action.
Surely, Tulsi is not the run-of-the-mill masala entertainer neither does it imbibe any deep social message for its audiences but it is one of those boring flicks which have a little spark surrounded by hopeless darkness.
Tulsi, essayed by Manisha Koirala (she needs a physical trainer desperately) is the spouse of Suraj (Irrfan Khan). Suraj is a drunkard. They have four children to look after.
In the absence of Suraj, his friend (Yashpal Sharma) enters their house looking to make out with Tulsi. With little effort, Suraj gets to know about this and he smacks his friend to the corner.
