Q. What can we expect from Mani Ratnam’s Guru. I have liked some of his films before, while some I have hated. – Anju
Tony. Mani Ratnam makes films that test your mind, they test mine a lot. But rest assured, this Christmas you can expect Aishwarya Rai dancing in the rain, a perfect gift for the festive period for us men. The film is all set for release around Christmas time, and Aishwarya Rai might just recreate the Taal magic (with the rain dance). Not only the that, you also get to see sexy sultry Mallika Sherawat and Munna Bhai’s babe Vidya Balan, in the film. Babes galore!
Q. Do you watch Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki or Kahin To Hoga – Nisha
Tony. Once again an irrelevant question, but I will answer. I watch both, not for the idiotic storylines, but for the stunning girls. Anything else?
Q. I have heard that the story of the Guru has changed a few times during the making – Nissar
Tony. Nissar my friend, there is hardly a Mani Ratnam film that never gets changed. He changed the ending of Dil Se, which ruined it. And he surely has been editing the script while the actors have been on the floors. The man is a perfectionist, this is what he does.
Q. When is Umrao Jaan releasing, I can’t wait to see Aishwarya Rai as a courtesan – Jimmy
Tony. J. P. Dutta is still adamant that the film will release on Diwali/Eid. With the film having a Muslim theme, he defiantly wants to capitalise on the Eid celebrations. But, and this is a very big but, he can’t find any takers. Most cinema halls have been booked with Don. The poor bloke has no place to show the film. So my inclination is that he might release it two weeks later, or he could wait till Bakra Eid. After all, he doesn’t want to make his film the Bakra of Don.
Q. Which Shah Rukh dies at the end of Don, good or bad – Aman
Tony. From what I have heard the _____ Don dies at the end.
Q. Are Eklavya and Baabul releasing on the same day – Sneha
Tony. Currently that is the buzz. But I don’t think you will get to see a double dose of Amitabh Bachchan. Expect some release date changes coming very soon.
Q. Is Abhishek Bachchan in Salaam-e-Ishq – Johnny
Tony. Abhishek Bachchan is currently everywhere. Did you see him in ____ ____ ____ ____ ? Abhishek is fast becoming the Item Actor. Next you will see him popping up in Lost, The O. C. and Grey’s Anatomy.
Q. I watched a video of some British Pakistani rappers on You Tube. They were really hard at it against Bollywood. Have you seen it – Khan
Tony. Yes, indeed I have. There is a news report about this on this site. As for what I make of it. I love it. I really do love it. Especially this line “What do you want to give your kids?/Is it Salman Khan or Islam?/Is it Shah Rukh Khan or Allah’s book?/ Is it Bobby Deol or save their souls?/ Is it Aamir Khan or imaan?”
Q. The picture that you left for us last week was of actress Neelam, did you have a crush on her when you were a kid – Aaliyah
Tony. The picture was indeed of the beautiful Neelam. Not only did I have a crush on her during my early teenage years, but I got to meet her and get a kiss from her. Now that is a story for another day.
Q. Have you seen Lage Raho Munna Bhai, what did you make of it.
Tony. Yes I have seen it. You can read my review here. What I made of it? It’s good, but it could have been better. It’s not as good as the original, but sequels are rarely that. For me The Godfather Part 2 is the best sequel ever made.
Q. I am loving the Don soundtrack, don’t you – Shretesh
Tony. The Don soundtrack is very very good, I recommend it to all. For one reason only, it has no Himesh crooning. Is that not reason enough?
Q. Last week you left us with something from your puberty years, what will you leave for us this week – Saania
Tony. This week I leave you with this piece of heaven on Earth. It just doesn’t get any better, does it Saania?
