Anees Bazmi has drafted a script for a sequel to the popular hit Welcome, and it gives centre stage to the two most popular characters in the flick… Uday and Majnu.
Just like Munna Bhai and Circuit, plans have been put into motion for a series of films starring Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar. Talking about this, Anil says, “This film has started a new phase in my career. When I expected Welcome I didn’t even read the script because Anees and I share a certain level of comfort. But now for the sequel we’ve to take the characters to another level. The idea that Anees has narrated is interesting.”
If everything goes to plan, then the first installment of this new Jodi should hit screens early in 2009.
