Here is something a Bollywood director hardly ever does… direct a play at one of the world’s most prestigious opera houses.

Saawariya director Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be bringing to life the 1923 opera ballet Padmavati, written by Albert Roussel, at the Theatre du Chatelet from March 14.

Bhansali was requested by the French production company, who have also asked Hollywood big-wig Woody Allen, to pop-over to the city of love and be part of this unique event.
