Ram Gopal Verma Turns To Comedy With ‘Mr. Ya Miss’
By: Goher Iqbal Punn

Following some box office success with the recently released gangster film ‘D’, Ram Gopal Verma returns with a brand new comedy titled ‘Mr. Ya Miss’. The eccentric and experimental filmmaker joins hands with Sunil Chainani and Sameer Shrivastava from the debutante production house of Horseshoe Pictures Pvt Ltd to produce this flick.

Sunil Chainani was the Ex-Channel V programming head whereas Sameer Shrivastava is from the creative team of Star Plus and Star Gold, they both have formed this production house to make movies under this banner. Horseshoe Pictures has two more projects lined up, which will take place by the end of this year. One is once again with Ram Gopal Verma and the other is a big-budget film produced entirely by them.

This low budget 5 Crore enterprise ‘Mr. Ya Miss’ would be directed jointly by Satchit Puranik and Antara Mali, who is the lead actress of the flick too. Therefore Mr. Ya Miss marks the directorial debut of Antara Mali, who also writes the script for the movie.

Although this project has a shoestring budget, what makes it unique and interesting is its storyline. The story is a comic rollercoaster ride, which talks of a man's mind trapped in a woman's body, making it a rather unique concept, which has never been witnessed before in Hindi cinema.

Alongside Antara Mali, Bollywood’s Aftab Shivdasani and Ritesh Deshmukh are doing the main leads for the first time after their last blockbuster comedy ‘Masti’. The supporting cast consists of Divya Dutta, Bharat Dabholkar and others.

"It is a very unique concept and through Mr. Ya Miss we are giving a distinct look to the art of film making. The cinegoers can look forward to expect something different and exciting", Ram Gopal Verma comments.

Sunil and Sameer express their views on the project saying, "we both are huge film buffs and we understand the importance and the excitement of today’s audience and are making a film that is unique, contemporary and above all highly entertaining. Whilst we are in the process of finalizing the details for our future projects, we are currently prioritizing all our efforts towards ‘MR YA MISS’. The script has shaped up wonderfully and it’s an honour to associate with a legend like Mr. Ram Gopal Verma for our first film.”
