BARJATYAS ACT ON SUGGESTION OF RADIOSARGAM.COM
Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon Is Cut

It's not just you readers who swear by our reviews. Filmmakers, whose films are dissected every week by our reviewer Komal Nahta, also take his analysis seriously.

Going by the suggestion made by Nahta last week in his review of Rajshri's Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, the Barjatya family has actually edited out an entire 22-minute sequence from the film, at least in India.

Komal Nahta had written in his detailed review last week: ….Chopping off entire scenes or reducing their length could help. For instance, the 4-point formula to judge a prospective groom's character doesn't make any sense and the entire sequence relating to that needs to be cut. The Valentine's Day sequence would impress a minority but test the patience of the majority. ….If the filmmaker doesn't re-edit, exhibitors would pick up the scissors and may end up doing a shoddy job. ….Overall, the film can very safely and advantageously be shortened by about 15 minutes. ….Re-editing will help a lot.

The Valentine's Day sequence was chopped off from Tuesday onwards in prints showing across India. Of course, the Barjatyas have acted very late as the unabridged version of the film was screened for 5 full days to an audience which found it too lengthy and boring.
