GARAM MASALA’s BOX OFFICE SUCCESS!

Garam Masala is one of the biggest Bollywood hits of the year, not only in India, but within the overseas territory as well. Proving popular amongst the audience, even filmmaker Priyadarshan has commented “Garam Masala is the best venture, I’ve ever made in my career” - a statement the audience may well agree with!

When speaking about his hilarious comedies, including teh likes of Hungama and Hera Pheri, the director recently said in a TV interview that he reads comics a lot and has been doing so since childhood, which gives him innovative ideas for movies.

Akshay Kumar, who has been enjoying victories with his recent releases like ‘Aitraaz’ and ‘Waqt – The Race Against Time’, emerges as a new superstar after Khans (who has been dominating the industry for last many years). The actor earlier has delivered comic performances in many a films and is also known as an action hero. We also saw him enacting powerful author-backed sensitive roles in movies like ‘Aitraaz’ and ‘Waqt – The Race Against Time’. Sometimes he lured the souls hugely and the others he disappointed his fans too (but these ups and downs are the part of an actor’s life, as they help them realize their mistakes to avoid in future). With his latest fun-packed comedy ‘Garam Masala’, the actor achieved the heights of fame and success he always deserved. ‘Garam Masala’ has placed his name with the top Bollywood big wheels such as Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.

‘Garam Masla’ has beaten David Dhawan’s latest comedy ‘Shaadi No.1’ and Priyadarshan’s another directed heart-wrench enterprise ‘Kyon Ki’ at the box office not only in India but also in other parts of the world. In UK and USA, the movie wrote mammoth business. Particularly in the UK territory, the film did bigger trade than the US terra firma. Days before, Anees Bazmee’s comedy vehicle ‘No Entry’ was waving high with the audiences but with the advent of ‘Garam Masala’ not only ‘No Entry’ but also all other movies seemed to be dying at the trade boxes.

Garam Masala has also given a boost to John Abraham’s acting career - despite the critics writing off his performance in the film. This entertaining outing of Priyadarshan has still shown the cinegoers another side of John’s acting – and his fans seem happy enough!

Pritam’s music for ‘Garam Masala’ is another soothing treat for the movie buffs. The soundtrack very aptly fits well with the theme of humor. ‘Dil Samandar’ and ‘Falak Dekhon’ are the picks of the lot.
