Hrithik Set To Play Lord Krishna

Perhaps it is because of the craze surrounding the Kumbh Mela, or perhaps it is because they have run out of original storylines - oh wait!

That happened several years ago! But it seems that Bollywood is veering towards religion-based movies.

One of the movies in production is 'Krishna', being made by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi. Madhuri Dixit has been approached to play the part of the indomitable Draupadi, while Akki Kumar is being considered to play the role of Arjun.

None other than Hrithik Roshan might play the central role of Krishna and Sunil Shetty could be playing Balram, his brother.

Amitabh is being persuaded to play the almighty role of Pitamaha Bhishma. Jackie Shroff has been asked to do the role of Duryodhana, but since he has been quite busy lately, he may not even star in the movie.

A grand lump sum of Rs 100 crore is being invested in this film and with a star cast like this, we're sure most of it will go towards their pay cheques!

Meanwhile, Jackie Shroff will have the chance to be 10 times the man he already is! Really, we mean it!! He has just been signed to play Ravana - who has 10 heads - in Sanjay Khan's 'Maryada Purshottam'.

The decision of who will play the lead role of Ram is causing quite a few problems because Sanjay Khan is considering casting his own son in the role.

However, a section of politicians are against having a Khan play the part of the Hindu god, Ram, so Hrithik Roshan is also being considered. Amitabh has also been signed to play the part of Ram's father, Dashrath.
