What could become a bumper year

Last year proved that Bollywood was fully capable of respect from the international film watching audience, with movies such as Lagaan, Dil Chahta Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham breaking new ground overseas, as well as the all important Indian market.

No doubt, the year 2002 will also help the Indian Film Industry break new ground and move on to bigger and better things. There are heaps of exciting and hugely promising projects in the pipeline for Bollywood fans to await this year.

Radio Sargam looks at ten of the biggest releases that should hit the screens in 2002. This is just the tip of the iceberg, and whilst some will become splendid blockbusters, others may not - but like always, the industry will no doubt prove that there is nothing else like it in the world!
