SHILPA SHETTY - INTERVIEW
The actress is doing just one film at a time. At the moment she is busy with the Anil Sharma directed Aapne, where she stars with the Deols - Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby.
Shilpa Shetty prefers to keep a low profile.
I am just doing one film at a time. Apart from that, I am busy with other aspects of my life.
What’s the reason behind your being choosy with roles?
Any work I do now has to be of a certain standard. I want my name to be justified in the cast and want to command some respect as an actor. I have let my audience down with my last couple of films and I don't want that to be repeated.
Tell us about Aapne?
Aapne is an emotional film. I can't reveal any more details now. As for the people I am working with, I have great regards for Dharamji and have worked with both Bobby and Sunny individually. Besides, Anil Sharma is a great director. There are many tempting offers, but I don't want to do films which will not have an audience, and I'll end up watching them at home by myself.
Will she restrict herself to doing serious cinema only?
I am an actress and my job is to entertain the audiences. I do not want to do parallel cinema only, but I want to do meaningful, interesting cinema. For instance, a film like 'Phir Milenge' gave me immense satisfaction.
Besides being selective, Shilpa is also trying to stay fit.
Looking good is part of our profession, but I don't do anything special for it. I just try to stay fit. I think it started with Dus where I was required to have a lean body. Thankfully the film worked out well.
Any interesting developments on personal front?
No, there is nothing exciting happening in my life right now.
