What was it about Asoka that made you want to act in it?
Oh, every aspect of the film appealed to me. Firstly I got a chance to work with one of my favourite actors Shah Rukh Khan who was also producing the film. My character had immense potential for performance. And to top it all off it was directed by Santosh Sivan. What more could I ask for before I signed the dotted line?

Can you tell us a little about the film?
For now, I can say it's a work of art. Asoka, by far is one of the strongest and most vital pieces of film to have been created in recent times. It takes its viewer back to a period in time that they're not familiar with and does it in style. Every last detail of the film has been paid attention to, be it the screenplay and the dialogues, the cinematography, the art direction, the costumes, the music, the editing - all of them are just brilliant.
