ANIL
KAPOOR
A tete-a-tete with the star.
Tell
us about Nayak?k
Nayak is a film about a young man from a lower middle-class
family, very much like the way I was when I started
my career. I am very honest and sincere and that is
the reason why I have a very high credibility as a journalist
in the film. The character is very responsible and discharges
his duties well when he investigates his stories progressively
on television. He is a TV journalist and during one
of his interviews on TV with the chief minister, a confrontation
takes place and he is given the opportunity of being
a chief minister for one day. And when he gets such
a chance, he takes good advantage of it and does a lot
of good. He does not misuse that power at all.
Have you seen the Tamil version of this film Mudhalvan?
I have, but language has been a barrier. But you see
the visuals of the film and they tell you all.
Like the mud fight sequence which was shot with 33
cameras
?
Yes. That is a very spectacular action sequence. It
is one of the highlights of the film. The scene is a
technically brilliant one. You have to see it on screen
to enjoy it. I cannot explain it to you.
