SPECIAL FEATURE: MTV IMMIES 2004 REPORT AND WINNERS LIST!

The much-hyped
TATA Indicom and MTV IMMIES were held at the Tulip Star Hotel in Mumbai
on 10th December 2004. This year's show was based on the dysfunctional
'Horror' theme... Radio Sargam takes a look!
A lively
crowd of over 2,000 people grooved to high voltage music, spiced with
electrifying performances by Indian and international artistes. The
MTV IMMIES (Indian Music Excellence Awards), will premiere on MTV and
Sony Entertainment Television on Sunday, 19th December 2004 at 8pm.
The show honored artistes in 24 categories across all genres of music
- from film to spiritual music, indipop to devotional, ghazal to international
(list of winners belows). The ceremony featured Bollywood stars like
Hrithik Roshan, Shilpa Shetty, Amrita Arora, Kamal Hassan and Sonali
Bendre presenting the coveted Awards at the delightfully 'sinful' show.
The audience was wowed with livewire performances by Strings, Fuzon,
Sukhbir & JoSH. Some of Bollywood's more sought after stars - Fardeen
Khan, Zayed Khan and Priyanka Chopra also set the IMMIES stage on fire.
All this, spiced with the comic banter between saucy Mandira Bedi and
MTV's favourite Bakra Cyrus Broacha, had the crowd in splits!
Over 7.9 lakh people voted to select the winners in the popular categories.
Viewers were invited to vote for their favourite nominees via mtvindia.com,
SMS on 8888 and through on-ground polling booths at MTV hangouts such
as Music World, Planet M, Rhythm House and INOX multiplexes.
