BOLLYWOOD FASHION AWARDS

It may not be celebrating the usual award categories of best actor, actress and film - but the U.S. is about to host yet another Bollywood awards show. From the makers of 'The Bollywood Awards' and 'The Bollywood Music Awards' comes the latest installment for Indian film fanatics - The Bollywood Fashion Awards!

This time around, Bollywood superstars will be fighting it out for titles such as the most stylish male and female celebrities, and the most stylish film of the year.

Organizers say this will be a mega event, which will bring together the top international designers, models and the hottest celebrities from both sides of the Pacific. It is the brainchild of Sonia Dandona, who along with her father Kamal Dandona have built up a formidable reputation in the US through their association with numerous celebrity shows in the past years.

The designers representing India at the event are the highly stylised Suneet Verma & the leading designer for Bollywood superstars Neeta Lulla. Their over-the-seas counterparts displaying their couture at the event are the highly acclaimed superstar Steven Seagal, who will launch his Tibetan Line in collaboration with Neeta Lulla at the show and the blazing hot new designer and graduate from the Parsons School of Design, New York- Anand Jon.

Also displaying her bridal range will be the founder of "Asian Andaz Inc." - Alia Khan. The models setting the ramp on fire include some of the hottest names on the American and Indian fashion circuit.

Among the Indian faces are Mrs. World Aditi Gowitrikar, Grasim Mr. India Aryan Vaid, Fashion twins Tapur and Tupur, Rajlaxmi Khanvilkar, Helen Brodie, Nayanika Chatterjee, Nethra Raghuraman, Jas Arora, Rahul Dev and others.

Awards will be given for the best collections as well as to Indian celebrities who display outstanding senses of individual style. In addition, the jury, to be made up of Indian and American designers, celebrities, and socialites will select one celebrity for the prestigious Lifetime of Style Award honoring a lifetime of glamour.

And to add to these moments, singers Lucky Ali & Sajjad Ali will get the audience tapping their feet to their rhythms. Ash Chandler will lend the humorous touch and the show will be hosted by the effervescent Ruby Bhatia.

The aim of the event is to stimulate creativity amongst the world's most talented fashion designers and to bring awareness to India's most remarkable fashion industry. To be televised for approximately 400 million people worldwide via satellite in India, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Africa, Middle East, etc. and also to be broadcast on the internet, the Bollywood Fashion Awards surpasses the numerous other fashion-award events by its sheer magnitude, class and quality.

Miss World Priyanka Chopra will be one, among the galaxy of stars and designers who will participate at the awards event. In the words of Ms. Sonia Dandona "Any line that remains between the worlds of fashion and entertainment will be erased when stars and designers alike will celebrate the year's finest collections at the show". But perhaps the last word belongs to Steven Seagal who says "The Bollywood Fashion Awards is the window that captures the magic of India, it's talent, it's beauty and the hearts of it's people".
