1) Just Chill Chill (Sonu Nigam, Jayesh Gandhi
and Amrita Kak)
The soundtrack begins with an upbeat number called ‘Just Chill Chill’.
Sonu Nigam, Jayesh Gandhi and Amrita Kak show their skills in singing.
Sonu creates a fun atmosphere with his electrifying vocals whereas Jayesh
does a nice job with his assignment too. New find Amrita Kak steals the
show and she is the one who actually steals the show completely. She has
got remarkable catchy voice, which fits model-turned-actress Katrina Kaif
well. Sameer handles the lyrics well although we take away some points
for the corny title! Himesh Reshammiya composes energetic tunes, which
take you to the dance floors. The video features brothers Salman and Sohail
Khan dancing with the sex siren Katrina Kaif. The choreography is a work
of class and the cinematography is eye-pleasing.
Rating: 8.5/10
2) Just Chill Chill – Remix Version
Akbar Sami remixes the song and helps you enjoy the beats attached to
it. The drumming attracts the most amongst the instruments. Like usual
remixes of today, it glides well on the ears.
Rating: 8/10
3) Dil Di Nazar (Shaan, Priya, Neeraj and Shaznine)
A party song with western music is next with Shaan, Priya, Neeraj (Bombay
Vikings) and Shaznine. This track too features the newcomer in Bollywood's
singing world Priya who does magnificently well with the rendition. Shaan
brings in his usual talent and Neeraj does a meaty job as well. Yes, the
song is potentially good lyrically and musically and you like to dance
while it lasts on the player.
Rating: 8/10
4) Dil Di Nazar – Remix Version
This remix version holds no values at all. Ordinary arrangement of the
instruments wastes the impact.
Rating: 1/10
5) Laga Prem Rog (Alka Yagnik and Kamal Khan)
An entertaining song for the movie buffs, ‘Laga Prem Rog’
appears with Alka Yagnik and Kamal Khan. Alka does well with her full
of enthusiasm rendition. Kamal Khan entices the souls too. Sameer-Himesh
combo attracts with the music bank. The visuals starring Salman and Sushmita
look great.
Rating: 8.5/10
6) Laga Prem Rog – Remix Version
Each track seems to have its own remix version! This track too carries
a remix version by Akbar Sami but unfortunately its poor because of the
mundane efforts used!
Rating: 1/10
7) Ishq Chunariya (Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik)
The much-liked pair of Udit and Alka sings ‘Ishq Chunariya’.
Although their singing soothes the ears, the overall impact with the lyrics
and music is flat. And thank God this song does not have any remix version.
Rating: 2/10
8) Saajan Tumse Payaar (Udit Narayan and Alka
Yagnik)
The team of Udit and Alka comes again with ‘Saajan Tumse Payaar’
and renders the lines beautifully. The lyrics and music once again sound
routine..no novelty value at all!
Rating: 2/10
9) Yeh Ladki (Kamal Khan and Sunidhi Chauhan)
‘Yeh Ladki’ hires the talents of Kamal Khan and Sundhi Chauhan
and they deliver flawless performances to lure the listener. Sameer and
Himesh both inject life in this lively track.
Rating: 7/10
10) Yeh Ladki – Remix Version
Grrrr... not another poor remix!
Rating: 1/10
11) Teri Meri Love Story (Shaan, Babul Supriyo
and Sunidhi Chauhan)
The album finishes off with a track specially designed for Salman Khan
aficionados. ‘Teri Meri Love Story’ is sung by the trio of
Shaan, Babul and Sunidhi and all enact their parts pretty well. Sameer
with lyrics and Himesh with instruments appeal also. A good finish to
the soundtrack.
Rating: 8/10
Overall:
‘Maine Pyaar Kyon Kiya’ is a completely average album. It
does hold some appeal thanks to a few hummable tracks, but its longterm
appeal is strictly limited.
Overall Rating: 5.5/10
