Its seems like ages since Bobby Deol last graced our screens. However
the actor now returns in yet another action flick, directed by Guddu Dhanoa.
This time around he's paired alongside Priyanka Chopra for the very first
time. The soundtrack to the film has hit the shops, composed by Anand
Raj Anand and featuring lyrics by Dev Kohli. Radio Sargam checks out the
T-series album…
(1) Mahi Mahi (Sunidhi Chauhan)
Sunidhi Chauhan assigns herself the opening item number of the album,
Mahi Mahi. She is the real epitome of perfect singing and wows the listener
with her gorgeous rendition. The drumming, flute playing and the noise
of chutki infuse life in the song. The chorus is soft on ears whereas
Dev Kohli skillfully writes boisterous lyrics as per the tempo of the
song. An unidentified male singer delivers "Mahi Mahi" in the background
but unfortunately fails to get noticed whilst a female vocalist (who has
not been credited at all in the album) sings "Chala Pava De Mahi" and
lets you enjoy and notice her soothing rendition. Finally Anand Raj Anand
provide an electrifying-enjoyable composition to hear. Potentially a capable
song will definitely make something bigger on the charts.
Rating: 8.5/10
(2) Sajna Se Milne Jana
Sunidhi Chauhan pockets another solo again. "Sajna Se Milne Jana" features
an inaudible chorus in the background whilst the instruments' arrangement
also follows the chorus and brings the song value down. Veteran Dev Kohli
writes ordinary lyrics. Ditto for Anand Raj Anand who spoils the finale
badly by his unattractive tunes. Only Sunidhi tries to safeguard the song.
But the fact is a fact that only the singer cannot save the song from
sinking. The visuals too do not leave any positive impression on you.
Priyanka Chopra looks gorgeous whereas the choreography and the direction
are just about average.
Rating: 2.5/10
(3) Dil Teri Deewangee Mein (Richa Sharma and Anand Raj Anand)
Next in the album, you are forced to hear a lifeless slow number "Dil
Teri Deewangee Mein' sung by Richa Sharma and Anand Raj Anand. Both the
vocalists struggle to do something positive with the vocals but the efforts
go waste. The instruments' arrangement doesn't stick out either. Lyrics
and music are ineffective as well. This is a terrible effort.
Rating: 1.5/10
(4) Hum Hain Mast Maula (Abhijeet and Alka Yagnik)
A "Masti" song (Sharabi song) "Hum Hain Mast Maula" features Abhijeet
and Alka Yagnik. Unfortunately, both of these singers sound horrible.
The dialogues, delivered by Bobby Deol and some unidentified male singer
emerge amidst the song, attract a bit. Besides the team of Dev Kohli and
Anand Raj Anand strike a heavy blow to the song with their efforts, which
only worsen the song.
Rating: 1.5/10
(5) Mahi Mahi (Instrumental)
This instrumental vows to prove its mettle with the gorgeous arrangement
of music.
Rating: 7.5/10
(6) Sajna Se Milne Jaana (Instrumental)
This instrumental doesn't try to improve its value and simply follows
the original track's footsteps.
Rating: 2/10
(7) Dil Teri Deewangee Mein (Instrumental)
The instrumental version of "Dil Teri Deewangee Mein" goes unnoticed due
to the vivid incompetence of the musician.
Rating: 1/10
(8) Bichi Pari Hai (Anand Raj Anand)
Anand Raj Anand makes his appearance with a solo "Bichi Pari Hai" next
in the soundtrack and tests the patience of the listener with his avoidable
vocals. The chorus in the background doesn't grow on you either. Ordinary
lyrics too add their contribution to play havoc with the song and the
rest is done by the mussed up composition by Anand Raj Anand himself.
Rating: 2/10
(9) Chitti Dudh Kudi (Shaan and Gayatri Iyer)
A duet "Chitti Dudh Kuri" by Shaan and Gayatri Iyer ends up the album.
Shaan concentrates heavily on each of his assignments, which is why he
sounds beautiful in his singing. His vocals are full of life, complimented
well with the sweet and energetic rendition of Gayatri Iyer. Dev Kohli
and Anand Raj Anand try to show their talents (which they hid from us
throughout the album) positively and succeed to a larger extent. This
boisterous number at least ends the album on a high.
Rating: 8/10
Overall:
Kismet is a horrific soundtrack that should be avoided by the listener.
It's unlikely to leave any impression on the charts.
Overall Rating: 2.5/10
