Lyrics: Sameer
Starring: Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, & Hrithik Roshan
Sony Music has finally released a taster of the K3G songs, which have
premiered on RadioSargam for you to download.
Here is an exclusive review of these tasters, which are variations of
the title song, giving you the first taste of this years most talked about
soundtrack and movie!
Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum:
This number has Lata in the upbeat version of the title track -- a great
song. The lyrics, although slightly conventional, are sweet and even a
little ominous. This, combined with the traditional tabla/flute instrumentals,
make this a chart buster, waiting to happen!
Rating:9/10
Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum (Sad Version):
The legendary Lata provides melancholic vocals to this rather
haunting rendition. However, it sounds like Jatin-Lalit have done some
recycling, as it sounds a tad like the chorus of 'Tujhe Dekha' from DDLJ.
Rating: 8/10
Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum (Sad Version) :
Poor Sonu Nigam!!! The poor guy sounds like he's in so much pain, which
just goes to show what a versatile singer he really is! He really carries
the song off well, but after a while the ghum gets a bit too much.
Rating: 6/10
Soul of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum:
This is the instrumental version, with Lata starting off with her melodious
voice. This is basically an assortment of what are most likely excerpts
from the other 11 tracks on the album, giving us the different moods and
a taste of the rest of the soundtrack.
Rating:7/10
Taster 2:
In this we hear a snippet of a conversation between real life
husband-wife acting duo, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, trying to understand
the difficulties and challenges in raising their son.
Unfortunately we have to wait until the 16th of October for the actual
soundtrack, but something tells me that we are in for one helluva treat!
