Actor-producer-director Feroz Khan is back again along with his latest
venture Janasheen. The star cast includes the likes of son Fardeen Khan,
Kashmira Shah and also the hot model Celina Jaitley, who makes her big
Bollywood debut in this flick. Feroz Khan's films have always been musical
treats for moviegoers and Janasheen continues this tradition nicely. Several
different composers have been hired to provide some versatility for the
listeners. Anand Raj Anand, Mrinal Sampat-Channi Singh, Sukwinder Singh
and Biddu polish up their respective instruments to score the music for
the soundtrack. However does the quantity of talent result in quality
of music? Radio Sargam's Goher Iqbal Punn finds out!
1- Dil Deewana Beqrar (Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik)
Dil Deewana Beqrar is a melodious and romantic duet, which is a highlight
of the album. Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik provide the vocals. Sonu Nigam
showcases his velvety voice perfectly, whilst Alka displays her sweetness
in vocals appropriately. The chorus in the background seems perfect. The
playing of violin, which emerges time and again on the narration of the
song, simply haunts and catches the breath accordingly. Praveen Bhardwaj
shows true innovations in his lyrics, which raise the spirits. Anand Raj
Anand plays a superb innings with this song while creating magical tunes
on the pitch. The song is on air and the visuals feature Fardeen Khan
and Celina in the lead. Celina looks fantastic in the visuals and the
scenes of her playing the piano are eye-catching. The direction and cinematography
are perfect whilst choreography deserves positive marks as well. Overall
the song impresses with innovations.
Rating: 8.5/10
2- Teri Chahat Mein (Gauri Bapat, Sonu Nigam and Jaspinder Narula)
The trio of Gauri Bapat (new comer), Sonu Nigam and Jaspinder Narula teams
up to render the next song, Teri Chahat Mein, on the album. The item number
track emerges as a melodious and energetic. Both Gauri and Jaspinder impress
with their well-managed vocals. Sonu should also receive praise for his
vocals. The background chorus is well arranged. The tabla, amongst other
fast paced instruments, provides comforts to the ears. Lyricist Timon
Singh impresses with well-penned lyrics. Biddu arranges electric tunes.
The visuals of the song are on air currently featuring Celina and Fardeen
dancing well as per the composition. Celina once again helps the viewers'
blood boil thanks to her hot outfits. Direction, cinematography and choreography
bag positive marks too.
Rating: 8.0/10
3- Ishq Fitrat Hai (Sukwinder Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan)
The renowned duo Sukwinder Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan renders an electrifying
duet, Ishq Fitrat Hai with much ease and oomph. Singing maestro Sukwinder
and electric voice singer Sunidhi impress with their classy renditions.
This folk song begins well with an active piece of music followed by the
singers' haunting vocals. For some time, an Arabic style of music takes
place, which is no doubt has pleasures wrapped in it. Famous lyricist
Dev Kohli spreads magic with his creative lyrics together with veteran
musician Anand Raj Anand who designs catchy tunes for the listener's pleasure.
Delivery of " Ishq Ishq" by Sukwinder attracts. Overall the song stays
well with the listeners.
Rating: 8.0/10
4- Ab Ke Baar Poonam (Gauri Bapat and Babul Supriyo)
Gauri Bapat makes her pair with Babul Supriyo to deliver Ab Ke Baar Poonam
next on the album. The narration and use of attractive words in the initial
reels of the song fetches the attention of the listeners. However the
following part of Gauri's singing does not impress and Babul also does
not create any wonders with his singing. Amongst the instruments, the
piano sticks out. The lyrics by Nasir Kazmi are strictly average, whilst
the composers' duo Mrinal Sampat-Channi Singh scores standard tunes. Unfortunately
the song thus has nothing to offer.
Rating: 4.0/10
5- Akhiyan (Sukhwinder Singh)
A solo, Akhiyan by Sukhwinder Singh features next on the soundtrack. This
fast beat of the song carries Sukhwinder's average singing all the way.
Besides, the background chorus is below average and the lyrics by Ijaz
Ahmad Ijaz are not up to the standards of the song. Following the team,
the crew's heads Mrinal Sampat-Channi Singh also score average music.
Overall the song has no distinction altogether.
Rating: 3.0/10
6- Aaja Merey Yaara (Gauri Bapat)
A melodious solo, Aaja Merey Yaara by Gauri Bapat emerges on the album.
The use of the violin pushes up the song, which provides soothing comforts
to the ears. Gauri delivers her vocals with much ease and catches the
rhythm perfectly. The chorus in the background is just passable. Throughout
the song, the sounds of violin emerge, which spread romance all around.
Anand Raj Anand presents true innovations in this song. Dev Kohli as well
shares his part in this innovative song while penning impressive lyrics.
The visuals of the song feature Celina in the lead. Overall the song is
a tasty dish for the listeners.
Rating: 7.0/10
7- Marhaba (Sukwinder Singh and Muskaan)
Sukwinder and newcomer Muskaan render the duet Marhaba. The classy singer
Sukwinder showcases his vocals with perfect ease and Muskaan too provides
an ample support. Sukwinder's delivery of " Marhaba Marhaba" catches the
breath. The chorus in the background grows well with the theme of the
song. The lyrics by Ibrahim Ashq do not lift the spirits. Sukwinder also
happens to be the musician for this song. But his composition unfortunately
does not carry any weight. Except the lyricist and the musician, the rest
of the team impresses with their works.
Rating: 3.5/10
8- Dildara Ishq Tera (Adnan Sami and Sunidhi Chauhan)
An item song, Dildara Ishq Tera wraps up the soundtrack. Rendered by piano-music-singing
maestro Adnan Sami and Sunidhi Chauhan, the song thrills the listeners.
Adnan grabs the listeners' attention with his usual manly and full throat
voice and Sunidhi catches the listeners' breath with her magical rendition.
The song is wrapped in full masti. Tejpal Kaur pens intoxicated lyrics.
Musician Anand Raj Anand adds full spices to the dish in order to make
it delicious. Overall the song is energetic and full of pleasures.
Rating: 8.0/10
Despite having some average tracks, the soundtrack of Janasheen makes
a smooth journey with pleasures.
Overall Rating: 7.5/10
