Insaaf...The Justice is hardly one of 2004's most awaited films, but director Shrey Shrivastava us hoping the movie will become a surprise hit at the box office. It would be great for the likes of Dino Morea and Namrata Shirodkar, who could truly benefit from hits to help their careers. The soundtrack has already hit the shops and is composed by Nikhil-Vinay, whilst Sameer is the lyricist. Radio Sargam reviews the album to find out whether its a hit, flop or somewhere inbetween.

(1) Tujhe Pyar Itna (Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Padwal)
The soundtrack opens with the romantic and melodious duet “Tujhe Pyar Itna” sung by Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Padwal. The sober rendition of Sonu as usual proves its mettle whereas the decency of Anuradha Padwal's vocals truly lives up to the expectations. The soothing fusion of dholak, violin and shehnai sounds pleasant. The arrangement of the background chorus showcases the brilliancy of the musicians' duo. The lyrics by the veteran lyricist Sameer seem marginally better. As far as the composers “Nikhil-Vinay” are concerned, the song fails to get noticed on the charts because it offers nothing different.
Rating: 6.5/10

(2) Chunri Lahrayi To (Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik)
Another soft-romantic duet, “Chunri Lahrayi To” is rendered beautifully by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. Udit Narayan always sings from the heart, which is why he is loved by his fans around the globe. The fellow vocalist, Alka Yagnik also makes much impression with the beauty of her singing. The Flute, dholak, pitcher's sound and dhol spread melodies in the atmosphere whilst the chorus seems great as well. Sameer writes impressive lyrics, which register a magnificent impact. The number attracts through the visuals too. Ultimately the song grows on the listener.
Rating: 7/10

(3) Chane Ke Khet Mein (Sapna Awasthi)
Chane Ke Khet Mein” is an item number featuring Sapna Awasthi. The singer fails to spell magic with the vocals initially, but starts improving as the song progresses. The chorus seems pretty ordinary whilst the arrangement of musical instruments is averager. Sameer seems tired and pens poor lyrics as a result. The composers' duo Nikhil-Vinay scores a forgettable composition as well. It doesn't seem that a listener could sing passionately along with this below average composition. Anyway the track is boringly inaudible except a better attempt to handle the singing cord by Sapna who sounds comfortable.
Rating: 3/10

(4) Chunri Lahrayi To (Instrumental)
Next is an instrumental version of “Chunri Lahrayi To”. Nikhil-Vinay prove their ability to compose soothing music here which they had forgotten in the last track. Such a well-managed composition can leave the listeners breathless.
Rating: 8/10

(5) Tujhe Pyar Itna (Instrumental)
Nikhil-Vinay, not being satisfied by one instrumental, arranges another piece of “Tujhe Pyar Itna”. Though the perfect use of baja and dholak appeals to the ears but the whole composition lacks somewhere, which is why the song doesn't impress overall.
Rating: 5/10

(6) Nazar Ka Milana (Udit Narayan and Anuradha Padwal)
A romantic-melodious duet “Nazar Ka Milana Mohabbat Hai” is next in the album. Udit and Anuradha both seem creative in their vocals. Besides, the pleasant fusion of tabla, dholak and violin grows easily on you. Sameer comes back to his usual abilities to write good lyrics as he disappointed much earlier in “Chane Ke Khet Mein”. On the contrary, Nikhil-Vinay compose rhythmical music but that sounds typical to the ears. No innovation at all, one may find in the composition. Since the songs of this genre require much sophistication to become appealing, Nikhil-Vinay fail to do that. The song has been airing on satellite channels for last many days focusing on Dino Morea and Heena as the lead players.
Rating: 5.5/10

(7) Tumse Milna (Udit Narayan and Anuradha Padwal)
Udit Narayan and Anuradha Padwal once again pair up to render a sweet duet, Tumse Milna. Both do wonderfully well with their jobs. Sameer seems in form here while penning majestic lyrics whereas Nikhil-Vinay's composition is soft but does not appeal much. On the whole, the song cannot make repeated hearings.
Rating: 5/10

(8) Dekha Hai Maine To (Udit Narayan and Anuradha Padwal)
Dekha Hai Maine To” (which ends up the album) features the same singers (who are actual the highlights of the soundtrack). Udit's vocals are as usual flawless whilst Anuradha too uses her rich experience and expertise to provide us impressive singing. Apart from that, the well-penned lyrics by Sameer go well with the theme of the song. Nikhil-Vinay erase the blur of average composition (which they created in the earlier track, Tumse Milna) herewith this number gently. Their music is supple and glides on the listeners as they go on with the song. The visuals of the track too attract through the direction, choreography and the locations. Sanjay Suri and Namarta Shirodkar look quite well in the song.
Rating: 8/10

Overall:
Nikhil-Vinay simply do not succeed with this soundtrack of “Insaaf…. The Justice”. The duo give an average album with only one or two tracks that create a small impression. Overall this is forgettable stuff.

Overall Rating: 5.5/10
