1)
Ada (Sonu Nigam)
The soundtrack to Bollywood director Priyadarshan’s latest slapstick
comedy starts with the funky ‘Ada’ sung exuberantly by Sonu
Nigam in a style that instantly grows on the listener. Sameer writes youthful
lyrics which are superbly complimented in the rocking tunes arranged by
Pritam. The video is already airing on all satellite channels featuring
Akshay Kumar and John Abraham. The picturization is catchy and the locales
are eye-pleasing. The song is a chartbuster.
Rating: 8/10
2)
Ada – Remix Version (DJ Suketu)
DJ Suketu appeals the his remix of the first track, although this is not
as good as the original!
Rating: 7.5/10
3)
Chori Chori (Hema Sardesai and Sukhwinder Singh)
Garam Masala now offers you a Western style Punjabi bhangra track. ‘Chori
Chori’ is a dance track featuring the enthralling voices of Hema
and Sukhwinder. No novelty at all in terms of the lyrics by Sameer and
ditto for Pritam's music department. Nonetheless due to the heart-hitting
renditions by the singers, the song is not a disaster.
Rating: 5/10
4)
Chori Chori (Labh Janjua)
This track too is featured with a second version like the earlier one
and rendered by Labh Jajua – a new vocalist who appears fresh as
far as the vocals are concerned. Worth a listen.
Rating: 5.5/10
5)
Kiss Me Baby (Adnan Sami)
Talented virtuoso Adnan Sami is next, with the foot-tapping number, ‘Kiss
Me Baby’. He entices the soul with his usual heavy-full throated
voice. Lyrics and music both add values too. The video (once out) should
be a treat with the sexy Akshay and John and the three seductive newcomer
girls.
Rating: 8/10
6)
Falak Dekhun (Sonu Nigam)
Sonu Nigam sings a love song this time around and excels in vocals. ‘Falak
Dekhun’ is written by Mayur Puri. Pritam’s composition gels
well with the mood of the song aptly. This song is worth repeated hearings.
Rating: 8/10
7)
Falak Dekhun De-Mixed Version (Udit Narayan)
Wonder, what happened to Pritam who keeps on giving different versions
of each song in this soundtrack – first ‘Ada’ then ‘Chori
Chori’ and now ‘Falak Dekhun’. But one thing is very
certain - despite providing alternative versions to the listeners, Pritam
nonetheless clicks since every version carries something better to enjoy.
Same goes for this version of ‘Falak Dekhon’ that carries
the maestro Udit Narayan who allures and gives boost to your energies.
Rating: 8/10
8)
Dil Samunder (KK and Sunidhi Chauhan)
The excellently-executed album ends up with an electrifying track, ‘Dil
Samunder’. Adroit KK and smouldering Sunidhi Chauhan team up to
deliver the goods. KK and Sunidhi do fabulous job. The passionate renditions
simply shove your spirits. The song has fast beats and flashing pace and
sends chill through the body the minute it starts off. The music department
(lyrics and composition) fits the bill immensely also. The visuals, eyeing
on the brawny men Akshay and John and the three sexy beauties, look so
hot and very stylish. This is undoubtedly the best track of the entire
soundtrack. A classy finish to the album.
Rating: 9/10
Overall:
The soundtrack of Garam Masala is young, vibrant, melodious and catchy.
The album should sell in large numbers and attract a decent listener base.
Overall Rating: 8.5/10
