Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha (Sujata Trivedi and Kamaal Khan)
The title song, “Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha” opens the album. A touchy number, it stars a new voice Sujata Trivedi along with Kamaal Khan. Sujata does not leave any point for which she could be called a new-inexperienced singer instead she catches the rhythm flawlessly and sings it in an amazingly well handled style. Kamaal Khan makes his entry late in the song but nabs the breath with his exceptional singing style. The arrangement of instruments appeals but piano and drumbeats become the real highlight amongst others. Mehboob’s thought-provoking lyrics register good impact and A R Rehman’s fabulous composition makes the song a feel good journey for the listeners. A slow moving song, which focuses more on vocals than the music. The promos are also on air currently eying on Salman Khan, Preity Zinta and Bhoomika. This is absolutely a melodious effort to start the album.
Rating: 9/10

Bindiya Chamakne Lagi (Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik)
Himesh Reshammiya assigns the maestros of singing world, “Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik” to sing a celebration track, “Bindiya Chamakne Lagi”. This track is a true fit for marriage ceremonies. Both arrest the souls in their magic of singing. The dholak, jhankaar and shehnai team up to provide the cooling effects to the ears. Sameer does justice to his writing pad and Himesh arranges an effective orchestra to make the song thoroughly enjoyable. Overall the track easily grows with you while it lasts.
Rating: 8/10

Yeh Dil To Mila Hai (Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik)
Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik pair up to render Himesh Reshammiya’s lilting melody, “Yeh Dil To Mila Hai”. A melodious romantic number, it features the silken vocals of Alka Yagnik and exceptionally cooling rendition of musicians’ all time favorite, “Sonu Nigam”. Amongst the soft-sounded instruments, the violin and jhankaar stick out the most. Sameer handles the arrangement of words perfectly while Himesh comes up with his distinctive touch of smooth as silk music. This song is surely the best track on the album so far. It is certainly a treat for those ears, which seek melodious-rhythmic tunes to hear.
Rating: 9.5/10

Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha – Instrumental
The instrumental of “Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha” makes appearance as a surprise for the listeners because A R Rehman composes the original version whereas Himesh is taken to score the instrumental of the same. A soft instrumental, its tune is different altogether from the original and has its own characteristics to impress the ears. It goes well with you.
Rating: 8/10

Meri Nas Nas Mein Tum Ho (Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Jayesh)
Follows next is a love song, “Meri Nas Nas Mein Tum Ho” sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik with the background vocals delivered by Jayesh. The track starts with the words “Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha”, which provide comforts to the soul. Udit Narayan is sharp and Alka is in her elements too. Jayesh’s background support is electric. The dholak, jhankaar, violin and guitar leave a good impact on the listeners. Well-worded lyrics by Sameer convey the meaning accurately. Himesh puts his trademark stamp on the composition. Overall result turns out to be an elegant piece of work.
Rating: 8/10

Zindagi Hai Dua (Madhushree, Pamela Jain, Gayatri Iyer, Kartik and Raquib)
“Zindagi Hai Dua” is about to “How to live life happily?” The song also goes to thank God for making the life worth living. Himesh hires five singers to sing this number and luckily all justify their jobs well. Mehboob’s philosophical lyrics attract and Rehman’s composition accompanies them perfectly.
Rating: 7/10

Jaane Bahara (Sadhana Sargam and Kamaal Khan)
Next comes in a row is a soft-melodious and foot-tapping number, “Jaane Bahara”. Sadhana Sargam, who has been scoring well in recent times, plays superbly here with this song too. Kamaal Khan is supportive at other end. Lyrics are not extraordinary so is the music of Rehman. Finished product is mediocre.
Rating: 4/10

Go Balle Balle (KK, Alisha Chinoy and Jayesh)
A bhangra track, “Go Balle Balle” appears next to conclude the album. Jayesh’s background vocals seem average. KK falls flat whilst Alisha Chinoy is the only singer who sinks in the song with her usual sultry voice to catch the breath. Mehboob’s lyrics are complete letdown. Himesh’s composition too does not leave much of an impact. The soundtrack also does not end on a satisfying note.
Rating: 2/10

Overall:
The debut vehicle of Atul Agnihotri, Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha, has two creative minds assigned together specifically for composing the music. Himesh Reshammiya, the leading musician, joins hands with music maestro A R Rehman to produce quality stuff. Their efforts would surely generate sales and some of the tracks have potential to last long as well.
Overall Rating: 8.5/10
