1)
Dil Jo Bhi Kahe [Shaan, Dominique, Caralisa]
After the grand success of their album Bunty Aur Babli, SEL create wonders
in the title track Dil Jo Bhi Kahe which is splendidly sung by Shaan.
A lively tune and fine use of guitars, rhythmic beat; this song is a treat
to hear and with some noteworthy lyrics by Javed Saab the album starts
in an impressive way.
Rating: 8/10
2)
Opening title theme
SEL have always given their best when it comes to theme music. And this
album is no exception. It might be used when the credits roll. Good orchestration
and catchy tune are its highlights.
Rating 7/10
3)
Kitni Narmi Se [Sonu Nigam]
The choice of singers by SEL is impeccable. Sonu Nigam who is the king
of melody, emerges victorious in Kitni Narmi Se. A beautiful melodious
track with a soothing effect shows another facet of SEL. With the ever
dependable Javed saab this song will be noticed and liked by all classes
of audience.
Rating 7/10
4)
Kaun Jaane [Shankar Mahadevan, Shefali]
Shankar Mahadevan is not easily heard nowadays. Since he has entered into
music compositions in a full swing very few music directors like A R Rahman
give him the chance to sing. Kaun Jaane is a slow moving song that maintains
a subtle pace throughout. Javed saab is a master when it comes to writing
about broken heart. The usage of the title track tune with flute background
enriches the impact of the song. A touching track that will be enjoyed
by SEL fans.
Rating: 6/10
5)
Mere Munna [Shankar Mahadevan]
A situational track between father and son, where the former teaches the
values of life. This song is a big disappointment in terms of the tune
and vocals of Shankar Mahadevan. There have been lots of tracks composed
on this theme before, and this track will go unnoticed.
Rating: 4/10
6)
Tu Nahi Thi Jab Yahan [Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, Sudesh Bhosle,
Mahalaxmi Iyer]
A slow romantic number Tu Nahi Thi Jab Yahan features popular singers
Shankar, Shreya, Sudesh. The tune is not that catchy, one has to hear
again and again to get the feel of the song. Though this song is not going
to create any wave, but it is soothing to hear. Lyrics are adequate.
Rating: 5/10
7)
C'est La Vie [Sudesh Bhosle, Vaishali Samant, Gayatri, Prashant]
This song seems to feature Amitabh Bachchan. The song starts in a promising
fashion but loses in the middle. An ordinary composition by SEL. This
song fails miserably on all areas tune, lyrics and vocals.
Rating: 4/10
8)
J'ai Bessoin De Toi (Beach Sequence) [Caralisa Montiero]
Caralisa croons to the beach track in her foreign accent. It is one of
the better numbers though a short one in the album. It might be used as
a background score and will look good if effectively picturised.
Rating: 7/10
9)
Sajna Angana Aayo Re [Javed Ali]
Another short track this song has a high dose of sufi style. It can be
effectively used as a background score which will have a great influence
in the narration of the film.
Rating: 6/10
OVERALL:
When we hear of the trio SEL, there is bound to be great expectations,
though Dil Jo Bhi Kahe has few good melodious tracks, the album fails
to satisfy the expectations. Most of the songs are big let down. The album
is not going to make any ripple in the music industry.
