AAMDANI ATTHANNI KHARCHA RUPAIYA
Director: K. Raghvendra Rao
Music: Himesh Reshamiya
Lyrics: Sudhakar Sharma
Producer: G. A. Seshagiri Rao
Starring: Govinda, Juhi Chawla, Tabu, Chandrachur Singh
Another Govinda album for all of us to enjoy. This movie co-stars Juhi
and Tabu, but also includes Vijay Anand, the flop actor from Dil Ne Phir
Yaad Kiya. Is this movie of the same type?
As for the music, Himesh Reshamiya is at the controls this time. He's
given some good scores in the past, though his latest scores have really
been weak. So how does this one fare...
Ayee Hi Diwali:
Not a bad song to start this album out with. The tune is quite average,
and sounds like a typical non-teaser Govinda number (though a bit more
festive). It has a combination of 6 different singers: Udit Narayan, Kumar
Sanu, Alka Yagnki, Sneha Pant, and Ketki Dave. All of them do a commendable
job with the vocals. Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, and Alka Yagnik are all
their normal selves. Shaan sounds energetic. Sneha, who was last heard
in "Humko Pyaar Hai" from Moksha, comes back sounding almost the same.
Ketki Dave is hard to notice. There is also a Rajasthani-sounding voice
throughout. The music isn't too interesting and is repetitive. The song
actually sounds a bit similar to "Sajaan Re Jhooth.." from KKMJNB.
Rating: 6.5/10
Ta Thaiya Ta Thaiya:
Though its name bears resemblance to an old song, it has nothing in common
with it. The main attraction of this song are the voices of Pinky and
Preeti, who made their claim to fame with "Piya Piya" from HDJPK and "Maine
Koi Jadoo" from MKKH. This time, they join Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan.
Shaan does a good job (as always) in his part. Sunidhi Chauhan sounds
normal, not spectacular. Pinky and Preeti sound as scratchy as ever, though
not as annoying this time. Why there needs to be two singers for one actress
still remains a mystery though. This is a fast-paced numbers, and the
beats match it. It's really a repetitive, but catchy song.
Rating: 6/10
Chori Chori Tera Chalna:
The first thing noticed right about this song are the stupid and inane
lyrics. Lines like "Tera Chalna item hai" and every line ending with "item
hai" really shows the weakness of the lyricist. Udit Narayan and Alka
Yagnik's vocals are totally wasted in a song like this. The tune is repetitive
with almost no variation whatsoever. The music throughout is unoriginal
and pilfered.
Rating: 2.5/10
Aamdani Aathani: :
The title song of the movie is taken up by Udit Narayan, Shaan, and Johnny
Lever. Lever Saab is there just to provide some useless dialogues. Shaan,
who seems to be a favorite on this soundtrack, is wasted. He is a man
of talent, and should be getting better songs. Udit Narayan sounds his
normal self. The tune for this song is very repetitive. The background
music has variation in it, and, at times, sounds okay. The lyrics are,
once again, stupid.
Rating: 3/10
Style Nasha Tera:
Another number with stupid lyrics pops up. This time, they're handled
by Udit Narayan, Babul Supriyo, and Sunidhi Chauhan. It's nice to hear
Babul Supriyo, though, in this song, he's gone back to sounding like Kumar
Sanu. Udit Narayan and Sunidhi Chauhan sound normal, not excellent. This
is another stupid, repetitive song with no point.
Rating: 2/10
Sajanniya Re:
It seems Sunidhi Chauhan is the female favorite on this album, as she
makes another return. Babul Supriyo also returns for this one, though
he doesn't sound too good this time around. This song really isn't much
to listen to, and it's quite repetitive.
Rating: 2/10
Overall Music and Instrumentation:
The music throughout is quite weak, boring and repetitive. There's almost
nothing to speak of for the instrumentation. We've heard better from Himesh.
Rating: 4/10
Overall Singing:
Singing throughout is a strong point relative to the soundtrack. Shaan,
Sunidhi Chauhan, Alka Yagnik, and Udit Narayan are used throughout. There
are also a few others, such as Babul Supriyo. They all do an above-average
job overall.
Rating: 7/10
Overall:
This soundtrack really isn't going to push this film at all. The soundtrack
lacks substance, or, for that matter, good songs. Himesh Reshamiya has
done much better before, even with his peppier tracks in DHLJ.
Overall Rating (Not an average): 4.8/10
